House Program
A fun recreational environment in which players in grades PreK-4th can be introduced to the game of soccer. Players in grades 5th-9th can enjoy the game of soccer without the commitment or competitive intensity of the Travel Program.
Academy I and Academy II Programs
The First Grade (Academy 1) and Second Grade (Academy II) programs are integrated with SCOR's House program. Each player enrolled in the SCOR First and Second Grade Academy program will be automatically registered as a player on a First or Second Grade Division House team. First graders will train with their Academy I group during the week and play with their House team on weekends. Second graders will train with their Academy II group once per week, train with their House team once per week, and play with their House team on weekends.
Academy III Program (Second and Third Grade)
Academy III is a "full immersion" program – players train twice a week in their Academy groups and play on weekends on their Academy teams in a SCOR Academy League, all under the constant supervision and direction of the Academy Staff Coaches. Academy III provides a more competitive environment designed to prepare players for Travel or Premier soccer.
Travel Program
Provides a more competitive environment than the House Program in which the more dedicated soccer players, ages U10-U14 are given the opportunity to develop their skills to their fullest potential and with experienced professional coaching compete against teams from outside Ridgefield.
Changes for Fall 2008
Academy III will be focused more for 2nd and 3rd graders, providing professional training and guidance. After a full year of observation by the SCOR Coaching Director, it is felt that this small change is the best approach for these age groups. Fourth grade players not yet ready to commit to the Travel program are welcome to continue participation and development in the Academy III program.
U10 Travel will be offered for up to two teams of 12 players each. Players will be selected based on ability, maturity and commitment. The teams will be entered into the Southwest District Travel league. Parents should recognize that travel to games is required as are commitments to tournaments (usually Labor Day, Columbus Day and Memorial Day weekends).
Required Documentation
All players joining Academy III or Travel this season (Fall 2008-Spring 2009) will be required to provide additional documentation. We will need to verify your player's age. For players born in the United States, this requirement is met by producing an original birth certificate or a current passport. Hospital or religious certificates are not acceptable. For foreign born players, parents must present certified proof of age, complete a United States Soccer Federation form, and both the parent and player must be present to sign the form. You must also provide a 1" x 1" color photograph of the player and your player must sign a current season USYSF Player pass. SCOR will notify you of dates within the next few weeks of when we will hold sessions to collect this documentation.
House players are not required to provide any additional documentation.
Uniforms
All NEW participants in the Academy III and Travel programs will be required to purchase a uniform kit, approximately $75. The uniform is used throughout Academy and Travel and will only have to be repurchased when the player grows out of it or in the event that SCOR changes the uniform style. Uniforms are purchased exclusively at Soccer & Rugby Imports and can be ordered during "Player Pass Days". Players in House, Academy I and II will be provided with SCOR t-shirts for practice and play.
